In the News: A Huge Wave of Zombies is Approaching Edition

Our fearless Marketing Coordinator Rachel (who you might remember from her appearances in our Bejeweled Frenzy and Bejeweled board game videos) is back on the scene with a wrap-up of many doings in the world of PopCap and Plants vs. Zombies!

Since announcing Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare and showing Plants vs. Zombies 2 at E3, there has been tons of PvZ excitement!

PvZ Garden Warfare was nominated for and won many awards at E3. Awards won included Game Revolution’s Best of E3, TechnoBuffalo’s Biggest Surprise, and Official Xbox Magazine’s Most Valuable Game.

Nominations included Game Informer’s Best of E3, Destructoid’s Best of Shooters and Inside Gaming’s Best Original Game.

TIME says that PvZ Garden Warfare was the most clever spin-off announced at E3 and also keeps the concepts of the original PvZ.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 was also in the mix with two E3 Game Critics Award nominations for Best Handheld and Best Social/Casual. USA Today has the scoop on these and other E3 Game Critics Awards nominations.

Game Informer gave PvZ 2 the Best Mobile Game award, stating that the “Bonk Choy steals the show”

Plants vs. Zombies Adventures was featured in this syndicated article from USA Today. They say that the game “combines strategic puzzle play with simulation to create an undead world that’s a blast to explore.”

Discussing why mobile games are good for the video game industry, Game Informer lists PvZ as an example of a game that has “mainstream acceptance.”

Need an alternative to violent video games? The Huffington Post lists PvZ and PvZ Adventures as non-violent zombie video games.
